Printable school year calendar 2026-2027, August through July
An academic year is not a calendar year, and that single difference is why this page exists. The span below runs from August 2026 to July 2027 — 365 days across twelve months, two calendar years and two separate federal holiday years. The generator opens on the first month of the span.

What crossing the year boundary actually changes
Three things that a calendar-year sheet never has to deal with. Holiday dates come from two different years, so the same holiday appears once at the start of the span and once at the end with a different date and sometimes a different observed day. ISO week numbers reset in the middle: the span opens in week 31 of 2026, runs through week 53 — 2026 is one of the years that has one — and restarts at week 1 in January. And the school year inherits whichever of the two Februaries falls inside it, which for this span is the four-row one.
Practically, that means a term plan drawn on a calendar-year sheet has to be stitched together from two of them, and the join is exactly where the winter break sits. Printing the academic span as one run avoids the seam.
The twelve months, and how each one prints
| Month | Days | 1st falls on | Rows, Sunday start | Rows, Monday start | ISO weeks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| August 2026 | 31 | Sat | 6 | 6 | 31–36 |
| September 2026 | 30 | Tue | 5 | 5 | 36–40 |
| October 2026 | 31 | Thu | 5 | 5 | 40–44 |
| November 2026 | 30 | Sun | 5 | 6 | 44–49 |
| December 2026 | 31 | Tue | 5 | 5 | 49–53 |
| January 2027 | 31 | Fri | 6 | 5 | 53 (2026) – 4 (2027) |
| February 2027 | 28 | Mon | 5 | 5 (4 natural) | 5–8 |
| March 2027 | 31 | Mon | 5 | 5 | 9–13 |
| April 2027 | 30 | Thu | 5 | 5 | 13–17 |
| May 2027 | 31 | Sat | 6 | 6 | 17–22 |
| June 2027 | 30 | Tue | 5 | 5 | 22–26 |
| July 2027 | 31 | Thu | 5 | 5 | 26–30 |
3 of the twelve need six rows with a Sunday-start week: August 2026, January 2027, May 2027. Those are the sheets where every day box is about a sixth shorter, so if you are printing the whole span as a set and want matching geometry, either accept the difference or check whether a Monday start levels them out. The one month that genuinely fills four rows on a Monday start is February 2027, printed at five so it matches its neighbours.
Holidays across both years
11 federal holidays fall inside the span, drawn from the 2026 and 2027 rule evaluations and merged here. 2 of them are observed on a different day from the date they fall on: Juneteenth National Independence Day on Saturday, June 19, 2027, observed Friday, June 18, 2027; Independence Day on Sunday, July 4, 2027, observed Monday, July 5, 2027. Both land in the closing summer of the span, which is the part of an academic year most likely to be planned last and checked least.

What this calendar is not
It is not a school district calendar. Term start and end dates, in-service days, professional development days, half terms, spring break and the exact length of the winter holiday are set by individual districts and schools, and they differ by weeks between neighbouring counties. Nothing on this sheet claims to know them. What it gives you is the correct grid for the span, with the federal days marked, so you can write your own district’s dates onto a calendar that already agrees with the days of the week.
Use the notes column for term-planning: it holds the things that belong to a month rather than to a date — the unit you are teaching, the assessment window, the report deadline. The notes layout explains what it costs in day-box width and when that trade is worth making.
When to print something else instead
- You plan by calendar year. Payroll, budgets and most household planning run January to December; use the 2027 hub or the 2026 hub.
- You want the whole span on one sheet. Twelve months at once is a reference view, not a writing surface — see the one-page year for what that trade looks like.
- You are timetabling to the hour. Lessons and periods are a week-grid problem; the weekly planner has the time rail this sheet does not.
Printing twelve sheets in one run is where paper and scale settings pay off — get them right once and the whole span matches. The printing guide has the order to do it in.
