September 2026 calendar printable — 30 days that fit any grid

The calendar below is already set to September 2026. Print it, or download it as a Letter or A4 PDF. Everything on this page about the month is computed rather than typed: the row count, the weekday totals, the ISO week span and the holiday dates all come from the same date engine that draws the grid.

An undated sheet has six rows and no dates at all — print it once and reuse it for any month of any year.

Two, three, four, six or twelve months on one sheet, arranged to suit the paper: two stack on portrait, side by side on landscape.

Month and year

Six rows is the only count every month fits in, so pinning it makes a printed run dimensionally identical.

Large and Extra large raise the day numbers, weekday names and labels — a large-print calendar for low vision, and for anyone who wants room to write. The paper geometry is unchanged, so it still prints as previewed.

Download PDF applies this exactly, in every browser. Print passes the size to Chrome and Edge; Firefox and Safari use their own print dialog, so set it there.

No web page can read your printer's real unprintable border. Print the printer test page once and you will know yours.

The one month this autumn that never needs a sixth row

September 2026 begins on a Tuesday and ends on a Wednesday. Those two facts together are why it is the easiest month of the set to print: 30 days starting on a Tuesday occupy 5 rows with a Sunday-start week, 5 with a Monday start and 5 with a Saturday start. All three answers agree, which is not usually the case, so whichever week start you prefer the sheet has the same geometry and the day boxes are the same height.

That matters more than it sounds. A calendar sheet has a fixed height, and the week rows share whatever is left below the month heading and the weekday band. Five rows on portrait Letter gives each day roughly an inch and three quarters of vertical space; a sixth row takes about a sixth of that away from every row at once. October is where that bites — with a Saturday-start week it needs six rows, and the boxes visibly shrink.

22 weekdays, 8 weekend days

There are 22 Monday-to-Friday days in the month and 8 Saturdays and Sundays. If you are printing this as a work or school planner, 22 is the number of boxes you will actually write in — a 30-day month starting on a Tuesday loses fewer days to weekends than a 31-day month starting on a Friday does. The month covers ISO weeks 36 to 40 of 2026, which is five week numbers; switch the ISO week column on in the controls above and those are the numbers that appear down the left edge.

Labor Day, and a holiday that can never be shifted

The one federal holiday in the month is Labor Day, on Monday, September 7, 2026. It is defined as the first Monday in September, and a holiday defined by weekday position can never land on a weekend — so unlike Independence Day or Christmas it never needs an observed-day shift, and the date on the grid is also the day off. Earlier this year, by contrast, Independence Day fell on a Saturday and the federal day off moved to the Friday before it.

The September equinox is on the 22nd here, and the 23rd in UTC

The September equinox is computed to fall on September 23 at approximately 00:05 UTC. That figure is an approximation from a truncated astronomical series — good to about a minute, which is not the same as exact — and it is worth reading carefully, because five minutes past midnight UTC is still the evening of the previous day everywhere in the United States. Wall calendars printed for a US audience therefore mark the equinox on September 22, and they are right to. This is the sort of detail a calendar either states carefully or gets wrong, and stating it carefully costs a sentence.

Printing this month

Because September 2026 needs only 5 rows, portrait Letter at 100% scale is comfortable: nothing is cramped and nothing spills. If you want ruled writing lines inside each day box, turn them on above — a five-row month has room for three lines per day without the text touching the cell border, where a six-row month has room for two. For a wall sheet, Tabloid in landscape doubles the writing area. The printing guide covers scale, margins and the browser headers that otherwise steal a strip off the bottom of the page.
